How we counted, and what this cannot tell you
We read the current public catalogue index and every shape shard it references. The number of rows in the shards must match the index before output is written. Each catalogue row is one listed stone; this is not an independent physical audit or an estimate of unique worldwide inventory. No row-level data, supplier identifiers, prices, stock IDs or report numbers appear in these downloads.
Carat bands use numerical cut-offs of 0.50, 1.00, 1.50, 2.00 and 3.00 ct. Elongated cushion means the exact source label Cushion with a recorded length-width ratio of at least 1.15. Step cuts means the exact source labels Emerald, Asscher and Baguette, not every possible modified step-cut label. Clarity spaces are normalised; other source labels are preserved. No grades or methods are filled in by assumption.
The method measures the supply Elmonas lists as available to order. It does not establish manufacturing capacity, sales, market share, owned stock, buyer preferences or the total supply from Surat. Numbers can change between this snapshot and your enquiry.
