Calibrated Parcel Specification Template

Copy this eight-field specification into your next enquiry: shape, size range, tolerance, colour band, clarity band, quantity per size, certification and growth method, and delivery format.

A complete calibrated parcel specification has eight fields. Copy the block below into your enquiry email and fill in every line. A complete specification gets a firm quote; a partial one gets clarifying questions or silent assumptions.

Field notes

FieldWhy it matters
ShapeCutting programmes are shape-specific.
Size rangeSieving and sorting happen within a range; state minimum and maximum dimensions in millimetres.
ToleranceDetermines how uniform the parcel is. If you do not state one, the manufacturer applies a default that may not match your CAD model or mounting.
Colour bandSingle grades make parcels slow or impossible to fill; bands (for example F-G) let the parcel be assembled from normal production flow.
Clarity bandSame logic as colour: bands, not points.
Quantity per sizeDecides whether your parcel is a stock pull or a production run.
Certification and growth methodChanges pricing and documentation. State treatment preference (as-grown or treated) explicitly if your end client has a disclosure policy.
Delivery formatPrevents repacking work at your bench.

What happens next

Send the completed specification with your enquiry. We confirm the specification in writing before quoting, so the tolerance, bands and delivery format quoted are the ones you wrote. Stock and standard calibrated parcels typically dispatch within 2-3 working days; bespoke custom-cut or calibrated-layout production typically takes 7-10 working days.

Not sure about a field? The buyer's checklist explains each one with a worked example, and the calibrated diamond layouts page describes the layouts service built on this specification.
