Key facts

  • Certification: IGI laboratory-grown diamond reports can record origin, measurements, carat, colour, clarity, polish, symmetry, and cut information where applicable.
  • Tolerance range: agreed in writing for each order before selection or production; calibrated work runs to plus or minus 0.05mm on diameter and length-width.
  • MOQ: no minimum order for stones 2 carats and above; 10 carats total minimum when individual stones are below 2 carats.
  • Lead time: 1 to 5 working days for ex-stock stones; 5 to 10 working days for bespoke requirements.
  • Primary shapes: rounds, ovals, pears, marquises, emeralds, radiants, cushions, hearts, and other agreed forms.

IGI identifies a stone as laboratory-grown and offers report verification and laser inscription linking the report number to the stone.[1] The verification routine is short enough to run on every stone: enter the report number on IGI's own verification page, match the laser inscription on the girdle, and confirm the recorded weight, measurements and grades agree exactly. The full three-step routine is in how to verify an IGI lab-grown report, and every stone on the public stock list can be reconciled to its report the same way. Its familiar 4Cs-oriented format is practical for comparing trade inventory. The report is an independent grading opinion, not a warranty, appraisal, or substitute for shipment-level QC.

Growth method and treatment can matter to a professional buyer. CVD and HPHT are different production routes, and a finished stone may require treatment or additional disclosure. IGI states that growth method and treatments may be recorded in report comments when requested.[1] Buyers should specify the disclosure they need instead of inferring method or treatment from appearance, colour, or price.

For layouts and pairs, the report evaluates each individual diamond; it does not automatically confirm that the group fits a design. Elmonas's specification-led brief can therefore include measurements, matching criteria, production reference, approval images, and report linkage. GIA may be appropriate when a channel requires its name, while GCAL can be considered for performance-led stones where optical evidence is central.[2]
