CVD Lab-Grown Diamonds for Wholesale
CVD lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds grown layer by layer in a low-pressure vacuum chamber, and Elmonas presents them with method-transparent, specification-led sourcing.
CVD lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds grown layer by layer in a low-pressure vacuum chamber, and Elmonas presents them with method-transparent, specification-led sourcing. CVD is important to Surat's laboratory-grown diamond manufacturing cluster and is associated with low-nitrogen, Type IIa-oriented material pathways.[1]
Key facts
- Certification: IGI certification can be requested where applicable, with growth method and treatment disclosure addressed in the product record.
- Tolerance range: On request; measurement and matching tolerances are agreed in writing for each order before selection or production.
- MOQ: no minimum order for stones 2 carats and above; 10 carats total minimum when individual stones are below 2 carats.
- Lead time: On request; timing is confirmed at quotation with the production stages for each order.
- Primary shapes: rounds, ovals, pears, marquises, emeralds, radiants, cushions, hearts, and agreed custom shapes.
CVD uses a diamond seed in a vacuum chamber. Carbon-containing gas is activated into plasma, and carbon species deposit onto the seed to build a crystal. The rough is commonly flat or tabular, which can influence shape planning, yield, and custom-cut economics. As-grown CVD material can show brown colour, strain, or layered growth features; colour improvement may involve post-growth HPHT annealing.[1] [2]
"CVD" is not a complete quality grade. Buyers should review the finished stone's measurements, colour, clarity, cut, polish, symmetry, transparency, treatment, and certificate. Type IIa is a chemical classification, not a guarantee of a particular cut, beauty, or absence of treatment. The actual finished stone and its records should support the purchasing decision.
For calibrated layouts and matched pairs, dimensional and visual consistency may matter more than choosing a method in isolation. For custom cuts, the rough form should be considered before a delivery or price expectation is confirmed. Method and treatment disclosure should remain aligned across procurement, merchandising, and downstream communication.
